Dr. Chancellor F. Gray is an orthopedic surgeon with expertise in managing degenerative conditions of the hip and knee and patients with issues related to failed prior joint replacement surgeries. He believes his job is getting patients moving and being their best doctor.Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Gray obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he was elected to the AOA Medical Honors Society and graduated with honors after attending college at Princeton University. He completed his internship, residency, and research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he served as Academic Chief Resident. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Hip and Knee at the University of California San Francisco.He is active and serves in leadership positions in several national organizations, such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Association.Before joining the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Gray was the division chief and William Petty Endowed Professor in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville, winning multiple honors.He is an active researcher, with publications including improving value for patients and patient-reported outcomes in hip and knee replacement, outpatient hip and knee surgery, and improving pain control after hip and knee replacement.
