Born and raised in Scotland, she was her father's assistant gardener for many years. She moved to Long Island, NY twenty nine years ago and had to learn a new way to garden. In 2011 she and her husband relocated to Ocala. She immediately took the Master Gardener classes and continues to learn how to garden in this part of Florida. She grows vegetables, flowers, and herbs, often in the same beds, and particularly enjoys propagating plants. A former elementary school teacher and principal, she also enjoys cooking her harvests, practicing yoga and traveling abroad.
