Amira Sims is an educator and spoken word artist with more than 20 years of experience. She earned her Master of Science in Psychology from Valdosta State University and has taught a variety of undergraduate psychology classes in colleges and universities in California, Georgia, and Florida. She shared her signature poem Another Pill to Swallow on the TEDxOcala stage in 2019 and followed up with a TEDxOcala talk in 2020. She is a regular performer at Spoken Word Ocala and is a foundational member of a local writer's group. Amira is a mother of 4 who enjoys reading, writing, gardening, and being creative.
