Fort King Primitive Experience: Making Deerskin Pucker Toe Moccasins

Under the expert guidance of living historian and museum curator Andy Warrener, students will create an authentic pair of soft-soled pucker‑toe moccasins using heritage-style kits. This hands-on workshop celebrates the craftsmanship and cultural traditions of the Creek and Seminole peoples and offers a unique, immersive historical experience. Using a deerskin kit and traditional stitching techniques, you'll learn how to form the distinctive puckered toe and soft sole, culminating in a finished pair of moccasins. Along the way, Andy will share cultural insights and the historical significance of moccasin-making in Southeastern Native communities.
