Clouds in Watercolor Workshop
This four-day workshop is designed for advanced artists with a solid foundation in watercolor who want to elevate their skies to the next level. Students will learn how to paint atmospheric clouds with emotion, movement, and subtlety using techniques such as layered washes, wet-into-wet blending, and edge control. The class will explore color mixing for expressive skies, soft and hard edge transitions, glazing for depth and mood, and capturing light, shadow, and atmospheric perspective. Compositional placement of clouds within landscapes will also be covered. Elena will share her personal approach to painting realistic, fluffy clouds using a wet-on-wet method developed through years of experience. Students will complete multiple sky studies and one finished piece, with demonstrations and individual feedback provided throughout.
If you prefer not to bring your own materials, a high-quality supply kit, including professional watercolor paper and the use of Daniel Smith paints, is available for an optional fee. To request a kit or for more information, email Elena at elenaron3105@gmail.com.
