Watercolor for Beginners: A Joyful Start with Elena

Discover the magic of watercolor- even if you've never held a brush before. This beginner-friendly course is designed to gently guide you into the world of watercolor painting with simple techniques, clear demonstrations, and joyful projects that build your confidence from the very first brushstroke. You'll learn how to mix clean, vibrant colors (without making mud), control water and pigment flow, and apply foundational techniques like layering, glazing, and lifting. The class also covers how to use basic composition rules to balance your artwork, build simple still-life scenes, and add depth with light and shadow. With step-by-step demonstrations and hands-on projects- including painting a wine glass, bottle, and fruit-you’ll gain practical skills and creative confidence. No experience needed- just curiosity and the desire to create! If you prefer not to bring your own materials, a high-quality supply kit—including professional watercolor paper and the use of Daniel Smith paints- is available for an optional fee.
