NAWCC Clock and Watch Learnings, Valuations, and Instructions
Explore the fascinating world of antique clocks and watches in this engaging educational course presented by members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC). Students will receive a comprehensive introduction to grandfather, wall, mantel, and vintage watches, including their history, craftsmanship, makers, mechanics, and value in today’s collector market.
Topics will include clock and watch history from around the world, notable American, Asian, and European clock makers, identifying antique styles and periods, evaluating current market values, and understanding the fundamentals of clock and watch repair. Multiple knowledgeable volunteers and collectors will share specialized insights and experiences related to restoration, collecting, maintenance, and historical significance.
Following the instructional portion of the course, students will have the opportunity to walk around and meet with different clock and watch specialists to discuss various types of timepieces, ask questions, view unique items, and gain additional hands-on knowledge from collectors and repair experts with specific areas of interest and expertise.
