From Cabinets of Curiosities to the Contemporary Gallery Space

This talk traces the history of the museum and the contemporary gallery space from the Renaissance to today. Dr. Giovanni Aloi is an author, editor, and art curator specializing in the history and theory of photography, representations of nature, and everyday objects in art. He currently teaches modern and contemporary art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Sotheby's Institute of Art New York and London, and will be presenting this lecture remote.
