Dr. Robert Matthias is a distinguished hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgeon. He received his Doctorate from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and a fellowship at the University of Florida.Since 2011, he has held multiple roles at the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, including Assistant Professor and Fellowship Director. In addition to a stellar professional record, he holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. His professional affiliations include the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).He is passionate about sports medicine, and his writings on football and baseball have been featured in lauded peer-reviewed journals and books.
