Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Meetings typically last between 1 to 1½ hours, either weekly or twice a month. What are these meetings like? Speakers and grammar are evaluated by peers. Thinking on your feet is practiced, as is listening. Come to this demonstration meeting to see how your communication can be improved.

Title: Pet CPR & First Aid

Attendees will learn CPR techniques, first aid skills, and health and wellness information for dogs and cats. Every attendee will have hands on experience using stuffed dogs and cats for practice.  Additionally, the class includes a handbook and upon successful completion, each participant will receive a certificate. Specific topics covered include:

Title: Writing Meaningful Obituaries: A Personal Journey

Having been a reporter for newspapers for more than 3 decades, I have had my share of writing obituaries. Many obituaries are cut and dry and lack any personality about the person who passed. In this course, I will give several examples of obituaries I have written - and hand out at the end of class an outline of what people should consider in his/her own obituary.
