Marty Hoffert

Dr. Martin Hoffert is professor emeritus of physics (Earth Systems Science) at New York University. A former chair of the applied science department, he has published extensively in energy, space and climate science. His academic background includes a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Ph.D. in Astronautics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now NYU Poly); and an M.A.L.S. focused on sociology and economics from the New School for Social Research. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Senior Fellow of the Breakthrough Institute and Chairman of the Board of the Aspen Global Change Institute.
