Mary Adkins photo

Mary Adkins teaches at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She has published Making Modern Florida: How the Spirit of Reform Shaped a New Constitution, in 2016, Chesterfield Smith, America’s Lawyer, winner of the Rembert Patrick Award presented by the Florida Historical Society, in 2020, and co-authored Florida Constitutional Law: Cases in Context in 2021. Professor Adkins has researched the history of the 1968 Florida Constitution, its revisions, and the people who wrote it, and has presented many times on Florida constitutional history. She is a member of the executive committee of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society.
