German Made Easy with Mary Hamblen
Begins January 6, 4-5 p.m.

Do you want to learn German to get by when travelling to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland? Or do you want to just learn German just for the fun of it? This course is for you! You will learn the basic German expressions along with the correct pronunciation in order to communicate effectively in German.

Members: $32; Non-Members: $37

Beginning Sign Language with Jill Davis
Begins January 6, 4-5 p.m.

For someone unable to hear the spoken word, how nice for them to be greeted in their own language! Attending this six session class in beginning sign, you will learn over 100 signs and the basic fundamentals for conversation in American Sign Language.

Wild About Animals: Desert Dwellers
January 7, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Deserts are extremely unique ecosystems that hold an abundance of animals. We will look at interesting animals found in these otherworldly locations and these adaptions that help them survive. This class will also have a special desert animal guest.

Get Rid of Knee Pain Once and For All
January 8, 1-2 p.m.

Knee pain can keep you from enjoying some of your favorite activities. Playing with grand kids may become more difficult as will walking short distances or playing golf. If you have arthritis, cartilage damage, “bone on bone” tendinitis, bursitis, or hear crunching and popping sounds, a new treatment may eliminate your knee pain and help restore normal function. Come hear Dr. Orta, D.C., speak on this new technology.

Dog Behavior - Basic Principles
Begins January 9, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Would you like to know how to communicate better with your dog? This program comprises different aspects of basic training in guidelines like "name," "watch me," "sit," "come," and walking on a leash. In this class, we will discuss common situations, such as house breaking, jumping, nipping, and chewing.

The instructor practices positive reinforcement, and never uses forceful or violent methods. She will analyze participants' pet temperaments, ask questions and find the right solutions to improve each pet's life.... and the participants.

Participants are asked to bring:
-their own leash
-their own treats
-suitable shoes, no sandals or flip-flops

Great Decisions - Selected Topics
Begins January 10, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

The topics for Great Decisions 2020, selected by the Foreign Policy Association, are designed to involve you in a discussion of world affairs. Your experienced facilitator is Roger Kass. The objectives for the course are for the participants to: Develop an informed opinion about important world events; Share their opinions during the class session in an open and non-confrontational forum; Gain a better understanding of the challenges and options facing the United States in its relations with the world. Participants in Roger's classes find the discussion lively, informative and friendly. The FPA briefing book, which includes all the 2020 topics, is available at the first class for $35, payable to the instructor.
